Somebody’s Knockin’

Revelation 3:20
“Listen! I am standing at the door, knocking; if you hear my voice and open the door, I will come into you and eat with you, and you with me.”

Have you ever noticed on the artwork of Jesus standing at the door? The door has no door handle.  Jesus cannot open the door.  Only we can do this.
In this time of waiting, believe that there is somebody knocking at your door.

Christ is persistent. Christmas is coming.  We can wait quietly, calmly or we can rush around in a haze of flurry and chaos.? You choose.

Open the door and let peace enter.

Knowing you

I often wonder how well we know anyone. There are secret inner parts of each soul. We know what others share with us – nothing more. Anything more is guessing, hoping, or even thoughts that are negative. We believe that someone is evil, another is too critical, or a dear friend becomes selfish for no reason.

But do we really know why? Perhaps when there is change in someone close, this is a signal that we need to spend some quality time with the individual just to listen to their story.

Do we recognise their best qualities? Change happens. This is not the time to be critical or condemning.

We read the scriptures and think we know Christ as we know ourselves. Maybe it’s time to be still and know. Time in reflection of the scriptures and in our relationship with Christ.

Do you routinely pray or spend time with the scriptures?
