Giving Thanks

The seasons come and go but in all things and at all times we give thanks. Thanksgiving weekend in Canada arrives the 2nd weekend in October. We share with family, friends, and our communities the abundance that we see in our lives.

We gather for a festive meal – usually turkey, potatoes, etc. and then there are the pies! Oh yes the pies!

As we give thanks we enjoy the food prepared and the conversations shared. Many folk are gathering for the first time in months or perhaps years and so stories are shared of missing each other and all the holidays spent apart.

Pandemic protocols are still in place but this year we can gather. (much different from last October) Thus, we give thanks.

The Holy and Divine in our lives is more fully present to us when we offer thanks. Truth is, that presence is ALWAYS there – what’s missing is our awareness; our gratitude.

This weekend and moving forward, give thanks for all our daily needs that are met. We pray for those who have not had those needs met and ask the Spirit to help us find ways to help.

How about you? What’s on your thanksgiving list today? How will you help others have their needs met?

Blessings to all. Happy Thanksgiving.
